Day 5

Your Future Deserves Your Attention|Psalm 139:16

Day 5

Teach Us Your Way

1 John 4:16 (NLT) – 16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

The only place that we can see a PURE display of love is in God. God is love. There are many interpretations of love on the earth today, but God is the originator of the gift and so we must look to Him for its interpretation. If we look elsewhere, we are limiting ourselves from receiving what His love can give and the kind of love we can give out.

God’s love is the power source for faith that pleases Him. The Bible tells us that faith works by love (Gal 5:6). It is the ultimate display of free will. God loves us so much that He gave Jesus (John 3:16) and then asks us to choose Him or not. God does not make us choose, He lets us choose. His love worked in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned against Him. God’s love shows that obedience to what He says (His rules) is not controlled by Him, but by our own free will to obey or disobey Him.

God loves us enough to watch us disobey Him, but still bring in help to solve the problem our disobedience created. He loves so much that Jesus would die for the sins of the very people that crucified Him. That’s the depth and height and width of love we’re dealing with. Endless. Boundless. Forever. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. Nothing!

So, next time the enemy tells you that you’re unlovable, laugh at him and say in the atmosphere the devil is a liar and God loves me. When someone is trying to control your choice in obeying God, remind them that you were created with free will and that your obedience to God requires a direct connection between you and God.

Today’s Assignment: Examine how God loves and see if you have doubts about His ability to love YOU. If you feel like His love is only for a certain person, then prove it by the Word. If you can’t, then accept that HE loves you.

Prayer: Thank you Father for YOUR LOVE for me. It fuels my faith and adds life to me. Thank you, Jesus, for your love sacrifice for me. I choose You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

COACHING TIP #5

How to Accept that God Loves You

God loves all of mankind the same way. There is nothing we could do to change the fact that God loves us. The only thing that changes how much of God’s love we have operating in us, is the level to which we can receive it.

Our rejection of God’s love is based on our judgment of ourselves and not His lack of love for us.

If you see yourself as someone who is longing for God’s love but feeling unworthy to receive it, then consider this image.

God is holding out His hand full of gifts for you to show you that He loves you. However, you stand in front of Him explaining why you are unworthy to ever receive anything. Missing the gifts that He’s holding out to you. Your speech to Him doesn’t remove anything from His open hands to you.

The point is, God has already decided to love you. The decision to be loved or not is now up to you. Will you accept it or reject it?
